Based on an iconic FET compressor and freshly re-tooled for greater headroom, the Cali76 offers comprehensive parameters, including Input and Output level controls, Ratio, and Attack/Release. The sidechain highpass filter compresses highs while leaving lower frequencies untouched, an excellent way to tame transients while retaining a thick bottom end. The invaluable Dry blend knob enables you to hit the compressor hard to beef up your mids and add sustain, then fold it under the uncompressed signal to keep your dynamics intact. Moreover, a new front-facing LED meter provides monitoring for the compressor’s performance, even on dark stages, while headroom and sidechain improvements make the Cali76 Bass perfect for active bass pickups, keyboards, and line-level sources. Of course, it’s all built by hand and housed in Origin Effects’ brushed stainless-steel enclosure for rugged durability!
